Welcome to this informative MI Theory website, sponsored by the EXPECT grant at the University of Maine at Farmington.
The theory of Multiple Intelligences, as put forth by Howard Gardner, is interpreted and used by educators to add variety to their teaching methods. By requiring students to learn content in different ways, you are reinforcing and stretching their many intelligences while celebrating the diversity in the classroom.
Follow the links on the left of your screen to view teaching strategies for all eight of Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences, or to get more information from links and resources.
